Leaving the police to police themselves has never, and will never work. They are always going to prioritize their own fears over the safety of the community. And, as they increasingly look at us as the enemy, we will see more fear more bloodshed from those supposedly keeping us safe.

When you militarize the police, you can’t be surprised when they act like a military.

Kids won’t believe it when you tell them: people used to have different opinions, but still be friends. Our politicians had professionalism and decorum. Dictatorship and authoritarianism was a bad thing. A politician’s career would be over if they staged a coup or were tangled with a sex trafficker.
