For The Sun, a news-outlet that is at times more patriotism than it is paper, to run this story shows just how much a problem the British Army has with misogyny.

On a daily basis I get an alert from Google News on stories relating to the 'arms trade' and if there is a frog being slow boiled in hot water it is us.

A war is coming, lads. A war is coming.

Is this why the UK military sent over 40 military missions to Israel since the Oct 7 attacks, to tell the IDF not to use famine as a weapon of war?

This is a story that never ends.

Recognising Palestine is just. But it’s going to raise some awkward questions.

It’s just a wider commentary in response to this. His sentiment is fragile against the extended framing - by the UK gov - of what is and is not “mob” violence. That’s all. No need to get huffy.

Because Jack Straw in the debate of the 2000 act said it would not be invoked under destruction of property but cases of 'serious violence'. This has not come to pass. And the government then extended the framing of the act - as attached - to 'moral support' even though the act does not say this.
July 24, 2025 at 8:48 AM
No - I am referring to the extension here (attached) of 12.1 of the act to 'moral support' - especially given that Jack Straw assured at the time of the 2000 debate of the bill that the act would only involve the threat of 'serious violence' and not the destruction of property.

I wrote this for Byline Supplement: the critic is no longer an arbiter but content; the algorithm eats first. In the race for engagement, judgement now precedes experience. Welcome to the tyranny of the feed.
