One catch with this argument is that the inefficiencies of privatisation mean that a bunch of American utilities and services really are insanely overpriced compared to those of peer countries. Nationalisation could well cut costs without increasing the average tax burden - just look at health.

Specifically, it's a food programme that relies on an entire parallel system of fake money that can only be used to buy certain things, because means-testing yourself into a single point of failure for your 'don't let people starve' initiative is just sensible politics.
