New teaser clip! ✨

A closer look at all the nitty-gritty details of our protagonist's initial awakening, this time highlighting the sci-fi elements of the game. A lot of work has gone into this one – enjoy!

First test of R3M3DY's combat system. Very WIP but plenty space for improvement. Projectiles and spells use up power while melee hits charge it.

Dead Space, Kona, Myst... These are the games that suddenly came to mind when speaking of isolation
#gamedev thoughts: What games do a good job of capturing a feeling of isolation?

This can be an important element in horror: the idea that you are hopelessly alone, surrounded by nothing and no one, and can only rely on yourself.

😍 Reading interviews like this reinforces my hope that there are still real game developers who aren't just chasing money, but who want to create value in this world
My latest indie dev interview is with Sylvain Abrial (Calepin Studio), the French solo developer behind the unique exploration/puzzle game Reliefs The Time of the Lemures, inspired by the Calanques region in France.

How we started our game:

-Not many indies were making multiplayer games
-Made a multiplayer framework for indie devs
-Used it to make a spaceship game as a proof of concept
-Wanted to make another game set in space
-We love cosmic horror and said "okay let's do that"

A look at indie games coming out this week:
www.gtogg.com/News/en/Top_...

Most of the stuff I listed launches today, actually. Personally, I'm probably most intrigued by Rue Valley; can't say no to a time loop story.

I'm usually not one to make Halloween-themed clips, but this one allowed me to try different animation techniques. Had a lot more fun with it than I thought.

Music by @thedears.bsky.social Extra long cut, hope it still falls under fair use 😘

Hello #gamers from all over the world! I would like recommendations for a dark fantasy witch game. I really like the Korean movie Exhuma and the series Britannia, so I'm looking for a video game with a similar atmosphere (dark magic, shamanism, druids, witches etc) #horror #gaming #GamerSky

I reviewed The Lacerator:

What the hell did I just play. (complimentary) An absolutely wild experience that's part survival horror, part grindhouse schlock and part SWERY/SUDA51-style madness.

So far GlitchSPANKR is probably the one that wowed me the most; played its demo during Next Fest and it's absolutely bonkers. Comes out today, btw.

✍️ A Shadow in Space Mini Dev Diary ✍️

A quick visual demonstration of our item handling system. We made sure that all the different weapons and items are held properly in our character's hand as she switches between them.

Mini Dev Diary! ✍️

We've mentioned before how finding and using items to your advantage will be a key aspect of the game, so we've been working on an item/weapon wheel system to help with that. Item pickup/handling is also being worked on.

Thief and System Shock 2 are among our inspirations. "Investigative exploration" is also a key phrase we like. You'll explore an area and collect items, some of which can help you in strategic ways: by creating distractions, you'll be able to safely sneak past enemies.

A Shadow in Space invites you to a world of technological terrors and ancient, cosmic secrets where nothing is as it seems. It's a dark, thought-provoking story that will force you to confont and question the fundamental truths of a world you thought you knew.

Hard to pick a personal favorite this time around but I'll probably go with The Dark Queen of Mortholme. That, or Ovis Loop.

The Alters, sadly, didn't click with me at all. Great concept (you clone alternate versions of the protag), but for someone not used to base/time management, the mechanics could be more frustrating than fun.
