I gave #Cairn by The Game Breakers today. Played about an hour or two and I have to say I am very impressed. This has got to be one of the most fleshed out climbing games I've ever played and the immersion in the game mechanics is unmatched. Can't wait to get into it more this weekend!

Pretty happy with how my latest iteration of a video game tracker turned out! Huge shout out to @david.mohundro.com for the slick plugin @obsidian.md plugin that helps automate the setup! #Obsidian #GitHub

So I've played about two hours of #Hytale. Seems quite polished and fun so far, especially for a game just released to Early Access. The progression loop is solid, the enemy variety is INCREDIBLE, and the combat feels really really great. The building can be finicky, but has some great variety!

#Hytale is out tomorrow, and I think we all know it's not going to actually dethrown Minecraft, but all I really want from the game is for it to be different enough to justify it's existence that it can be a good game in it's own right. Maybe Terraria style progression? Also thanks for Native Linux!

Jack Stauber came on the shuffle today while I was at work and DAMN I forgot how catchy and fun his songs are. I wish he'd come back not just on Patreon, but like everywhere. His tunes kick ass.

My prediction for the new Steam's new hardware prices:

- Steam Controller at $100, steep but it packs a ton of features and that neat charging dock. Worth it!

- Steam Frame at $500, directly competing with Quest 3 with pros and cons for each.

- Steam Machine at $800, which will piss everyone off.

If we do get something Kanto related tomorrow at Pokemon Presents, please let it be an HD2D Remake of the Kanto games. That would be the only Kanto related thing I would actually want. PLEASE NINTENDO #pokemon

A few days ago I posted my first ever game review over on my blog for MOSA LINA! I had a lot of fun writing this review and if you want to here about this gem of a game you should give it a read! :) hyruli.net/0001_mosalina/

Today I finished a complete overhaul of my personal website, hyruli.net! I am super pleased with how it turned out, and I am really loving BearBlog so far! It's been a godsend for being just the right amount of tinkering for me. I'm hoping to post some blurbs about projects I'm working on soon!

I really like CapCut as a video editor, but wow they are really starting to push the premium subscription now. You can't separate the audio from a video clip now without paying for premium. That's an essential feature for pretty much anyone, and I can't justify the $20 for my casual use for fun.

I signed up for a trial for some Adobe stock photo thing just to see what was available with a virtual card set to a $1 transaction limit. They have tried 20 TIMES to charge me. Just take away my access already! I don't even feel bad. Adobe sucks.

Fantasy Life i has been INCREDIBLE so far. I can't specify enough how huge of an upgrade it is over it's 3DS counterpart. Can't recommend it enough.

It's very early days, but I am super hyped for this new skating game I just got recommended. It's called cheapskate and it's by former Neversoft devs. I played it for a bit and it shows a lot of potential! It feels quite good despite the lack of animations!

Folks, it's more important than ever today to thank our indie game devs for years of incredibly unique and fun video games at an affordable price.

Nintendo set a precedent for game pricing today that is sure to hurt gamers wallets and make games less accessible to all.

Thank you Indie Devs!

I've been replaying the first Katamari game on Steam Deck this week and I forgot how therapeutic these games can be. Nothing like unwinding after a long day by winding up a Katamari. It's weirdly relaxing, and the music kicks ass. I've never played past the first game, but I definitely need too.

Lossless Scaling, a nifty little tool to inject AI Upscaling and Frame Gen into any game, is $3.50 right now! This is a steal for people in the same boat as me with aging hardware that want it to last a bit longer. Devs are really dedicated to keeping it updated and improved as well. Check it out!!

@helskate.bsky.social This game had so much potential, unfortunately it was taken out of early access way before it was ready and the devs have been radio silent for two months now. In a last ditch effort to try and trick people into buying this unfinished mess they are now putting the game on sale.

Decided randomly today to switch to Linux with no disregard for the consequences! Loving it so far, so hopefully everything continues to go well. I'm going to miss Lossless Scaling the most from Windows, and I'll likely need to get a Windows partition at some point for PC VR, but for now LINUX!!! :)
