A friend showed me Alien Isolation where the Xenomorph runs on two different AI's to be an effective and horrifying threat to the player. Of course, if it was GenAI, the Xenomorph would either walk through walls or always go for exactly where you're hiding everytime.
This can be a difficult and nuanced discussion, especially for people that are out of the tech loop. I try to break it down as
AI = shit you've been using for over a decade. Predictive text. NPC enemy AI. Specialized machine learning.
GenAI = shit built on stolen/scraped assets from the Internet

Hello Neighbor going through a genuinley awesome redemption arc with how surprisingly good the cartoon was and then the banger new art direction with the third game, only to piss everyone off by getting into AI slop is actually one of the most depressing things to happen in the Mascot Horror genre.
Their fans are calling them out on this on Discord but they just keep doubling down. If you hate AI please boycott them, voting with your dollars is the best thing you can do about this.
