they/them
Right there is the issue though. Capitalists dictating how they are to be defeated. Hierarchy dictating it can only be replaced by hierarchy. Even if Leninism wins it'll demand the same. It can't be the solution, even if looks like it's the only one.

Anyway, this was interesting, I'm going to bed.

Yeah, every 3 months I take a break from touching grass to put some worms in my brain.

I largely agree that Leninism has made a lot of social progress and was an important experiment in creating a better society. I guess I just want better than it and its legacy.
September 17, 2025 at 4:02 PM
I don't see how the survival of Leninism inspires you to bother though. Aside from China, the remaining communist nations do little more than survive. Meanwhile the Leninism in China has made many concessions in order to grow, and done very little to solve the country's own issues of oppression.
September 17, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Yeah, the word communism has two meanings here. I was only ever arguing methods, as in those used by all existing and prior self-described communist countries. As in, why are you defending Leninism?
September 17, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Well I'm an anarchist so I at least try to behave like classed societies aren't inevitable. But classes are only one kind of hierarchy, and I oppose all hierarchies, including the ones communists seem to inevitably keep recreating and falling to.
September 17, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Yes, and a lot of people at some point believed communism was the future from capitalism, but it has failed to become the future or even succeed capitalism as capitalism once did feudalism. Why do you fight for a dead ideology?
September 17, 2025 at 2:39 PM
And capitalist societies raised standards of living much higher than similarly developed feudal systems. But we both agree capitalism isn't the future, right?

Wow, it's uncanny.

Are you permanently LARPing as this guy?
June 5, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Yeah, I definitely don't trust LLMs to act as experts instead of assistants, but I recognise lots of people do. I think most people will eventually learn how much LLMs should be trusted though.
April 25, 2025 at 10:51 AM
???
Useless. I'd expect smarter responses from an LLM, honestly.
April 25, 2025 at 10:20 AM
It might depend on what it's doing. I used it to assist in coding on a daily basis and it can sometimes (but not always) fix fundamental errors in its working. I wouldn't employ it even as a junior software engineer but being an assistant to me for cents an hour is fine.
April 25, 2025 at 6:34 AM
So far both you and Ketan have said that LLMs produce output that is often correct but still somehow problematic. Saying the process by which an LLM produces output is different to the way a human does doesn't answer why the output is problematic, it just says it's different.
April 25, 2025 at 6:28 AM
It can learn from mistakes though. If you have a conversation with it and it makes a mistake, you can tell it and it will correct its output. These models are also getting updated regularly to be more accurate.
April 25, 2025 at 2:23 AM
How am LLM actually works is largely irrelevant here. But your last sentence is true of human writing too. You can't 100% trust what someone else has written unless you know it all for yourself. Everybody already understands this, and people are quickly learning not to fully trust LLMs too.
April 25, 2025 at 2:21 AM
It's not clear to me how this is different from errors in human-created content. Everyone understands that others make mistakes, so we create system to check and correct each other. Is the issue just that this is a new type of system we haven't yet created a good error correction framework for yet?

"You should see the other guy". We're back here already? It's been less than 8 replies and I was the one who said it first.
February 2, 2025 at 4:10 PM
You support liberal leaders who support it.
February 2, 2025 at 7:11 AM
Ahhh you got me. I exaggerated to highlight the parallels with fascist Israeli rhetoric used to justify the Palestinian genocide. Now can we get back to the secret love affair liberals have with genocide?
February 2, 2025 at 7:05 AM
I didn't say it was a genocide. Read again.
February 2, 2025 at 6:54 AM
Seems weird that you'd support a fascist state killing tens of thousands of civilians in occupied Palestine now then. If I didn't know better I'd say liberals don't actually care about stopping fascism, they just care about killing people.
February 2, 2025 at 6:54 AM
"If we didn't commit genocide then someone else would have genocided us!"
Yeah I heard that from Israelis last year.
February 2, 2025 at 6:43 AM
Leftists: "We won't allow ourselves with genocidal maniacs"

Liberals: "If you think we're genocidal, you should see the other guy!"

Liberals: Brag about inventing the ultimate genocide machine.
