Then @raspberrysheep.bsky.social took me out to celebrate our 20th anniversary together (early) and we saw Back to the Future 40th Anniversary at Hoyts Lux which was a great experience.

And it should also be noted that this specific outage for AWS is isolated to a single region in us-east-1. They have multiple regions and availability zones (multiple concurrent data centres per region) to avoid this.

Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Bezos either.

But there's no outcome in any of the available options where it ticks all the boxes of morality, cost, reliability, and ongoing upkeep.

And to businesses with a cloud product, they want to spend less time managing infra and more on product.
