Goal: inspire residents/fans of Portland, Oregon, by celebrating what makes it so unique + wonderful, and promoting ways to contribute to its livability + prosperity. Haters, bigots, and other yucky people will be blocked. Let's build up, not tear down.

On February 4, we’ll be honoring Rosa Parks and her contributions to the civil rights movement. We will not be collecting fares on our buses, MAX and LIFT.

Portland Streetcar and @ctranvancouver.c-tran.com will also join us in not collecting fares.

Finnish Lodge aka Town Hall (1907). Such a great feel to this old building, which is still in use as part of Kaiser Permanente's Interstate campus.

Starting the new year with my downtown Portland favorite, the 1907 Wells Fargo building designed by Benjamin Wistar Morris III. So much to love about this standout.

You don't need to be a sports fan to embrace this Providence Park sign for the new year. Portland, here's to renewal, strength, and prosperity in 2026. We got this. 💜

Downtown Portland's Mill Ends Park recently lost its title to "World's Smallest Park," but we love it anyway!

One of my favorite PDX holiday traditions is Benson Hotel's annual confectionary masterpiece. This year it's a palace in the Emerald City of Oz. Be sure to look for the scarves and people hidden within the sweet sculpture! 🏰

The grand old Blake McFall building along the Burnside Bridge. Built in 1915, it's a Portland Historic Landmark. The old concert sign on its north wall is a bonus!

I've always found the location of this sculpture by Ilan Averbuch intriguing. Next to the Moda Center arena. Warning that even the mighty can fall? Or promise of triumph to come?

Circa 1909 City Water Office on SE Alder. Designed by architectural luminary Joseph Jacobberger. So beautiful!

You may occasionally see metal curb guards on PDX streets, remnants of days past when people got around in carriages and on horseback. The imprinted street name in this example is also old — the street is now Northwest 19th Avenue.

Architect William Christmas Knighton designed many great buildings around Portland and put his trademark "Transformer" motif on quite a few. Have you seen some? Here's one from the Seward/Governor/Sentinel Hotel downtown 💚.

Ford Motor Assembly Plant (1914) by PDX's star architect, A. E. Doyle. SE Division in Portland, OR. (Where, incidentally, life rolls on in the same laid-back, outdoorsy, food-loving, dog-loving, bike-loving, creative, Northwest hipster way as always — the furthest thing from a war zone imaginable.)

After seeing a lot about Fat Bear Week in the news, it seemed appropriate to showcase Mauricio Saldaña's statue in Jamison Square, Pearl District, Portland.
