At some point the reality of the situation eclipses the hypothetical. There *could* be ethical ai, but every existing version is not.

(I agree a lot of people genuinely like ai products, and they are Actually useful for many things. The question for me is whether those benefits trump the harms)

I don't think it's so complex as "projected vs scanned". Studios love to throw old movies to some junior colorist to "remaster" them with boosted saturation. imho it's as bad as redoing CGI with tools not available at the time. I'm simplifying but I think it's a choice
