I have become the furry in IT stereotype and I'm happy with it. I live for my evenings and weekends where I get to pretend to be a dad dog in a 3D world. I will keep at it as long as I can. AMA I guess.

I still live in a bit of fear though. Everything in my life right now is only possible because of this specific job and I feel like if I didn't work here, I couldn't live with my husband in our cute little fun home in texas. My career is everything to me and I have to manage the anxiety.

Still working at that company now, and I like it. I ended up in IT after all and wish I had just done it right away instead of believing it would be too predictable for me and the competition would be too harsh. Not at risk of layoffs, touch wood, because I'm in critical operations infrastructure.

2 weeks later, I was headhunted on linkedin by the world's largest carrier-neutral datacenter company. I earn more than I ever have, and I've been promoted 3 times in 5 years. When I said I might leave to move to the US to be with my husband they panicked and arranged an internal transfer.

disheartened by UK economics, brexit, 2 years of no job offers and interviewers' casual racism (are you sure this is your name? you sound English) I quit my job (can we clone you?) sold everything I owned except a van full of personal stuff and drove back to the family home in Poland.
