When I looked to see when it was originally released just now, I saw it was reissued on CD/digital in 2018. I hope wherever that girl/woman is today, she was able to get a copy of her own if she no longer had the one I gave her. And I hope she's doing okay.

Man, I miss LiveJournal.

I kept the CD after that, & I don't get rid of old CDs anymore. I don't buy much physical media these days unless it's one of my top fav bands, but you just never know when something you hadn't thought about in ages might be important again. >>

I pulled it out, ripped it, uploaded it and posted it in reply to her. I gave her my sympathies as I was a couple Christmases out from having lost my own mother, so I totally got it, and hoped having the CD again at least helped a little bit. >>

I had a bunch of CDs in my closet that I had culled and was planning to take to our local record store to sell, including some Christmas ones I hadn't listened to in ages. I then remembered that one of them was the CD she wanted: Merry Christmas from Doc Severinsen and the Tonight Show Orchestra. >>

A girl posted that she was desperately looking for a Christmas album that had been her mother's favorite. Her mother had passed away that year and she wanted the album to remember her by but couldn't find it anywhere. It had been released in 1991 and appeared to have gone out of print. >>

That was back in the early to mid 2000s, & I've actually ended up purchasing some of the stuff I downloaded back in the day when it was released or re-released in better quality than the old school CD rips where people didn't understand how to rip in high quality when it was a new thing.

ahahaha a song came up & I was like... when did I get this? Then remembered that a lot of this playlist consists of stuff I downloaded from two different communities on LiveJournal where people shared Xmas music via Megaupload & similar services until LJ shut them down. >>
