Not that a Police Strike or even a Police Riot is an excuse to have to their violent fascism an inch but even more than that if you're going to stake a claim as an anti-fascist mayor at this point you have to expect the police to target you and your family, maybe even "allow" harm or worse

I don't think mayors of major cities actually have appreciable control over their police anymore (except where their fascism coincidentally aligns) and even if Mamdani took Tisch out and tried to stop the NYPD from being the most violent gang in the city he would just have a police strike/riots.
