I guess so. He lives in an old church, which is fenced off and protected by razor wire. He has a lot of odd signage and slogans posted up, including a statement that anyone entering his property will be shot.
Apparently police accompanied construction workers to his fence-line and he opened fire.

They're not even particularly evil people for the most part: it's just a few cynical manipulators making bank off a bunch of ignorant chuds who are having fun pretending to the victim because it gives them the chance to wallow in their own entitlement and feel like more than the losers they are.
