I forgot to include this one in the last post so I am including it here in its very own post.

Most of the books I consume are nonfiction. This year, they centered around four themes. First up: "world systems".

Here is a sample of great reads in that category.

The one that stuck with me the most is Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen.

The most personally impactful book I read this year:

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl.

This is not a new book - I just didn't read it in the first ~77 years since its publication.

Every passage in this book is moving.

We've had these cat statues a while. They used to sit in the office but have been collecting dust in the garage recently.

My daughter found them and, using her mittens, created real art.

I learned this too!

Today I went for a walk with my family in the woods before having some Irish beer at a local haunt. This was more therapeutic than most anything I've done in a while, and I needed it.

I miss the UNC community often. I miss the DTH being my local paper. This hits me hard. Kudos to the student paper for having the strength to publish.
