...you are aware that classical liberalism is considered conservative by modern global standards, right? your bio is confusing
December 18, 2025 at 10:59 PM
classical liberalism is conservative and, globally, very outdated
December 18, 2025 at 10:55 PM
it sounds like you have a lot of opinions around which arbitrary lines denote rights. you also seem to believe that the concept of rights is individual and innate, rather than something that is cultivated by society (a collective project). i think youre an idiot

thats a complete deflection of what im talking about and an intellectually lazy argument, sorry

if people could legally pitch tents in public, private housing would have a single leg to stand on. that is not the world we live in
December 18, 2025 at 2:24 PM
when houselessness is criminalized, housing becomes a component of life liberty pursuit of whatever. you cant deny people housing and claim that their god given rights are honored. u just have propoganda from realtors and insurance agents

humans dont intrinstically have protected speech. thats why codifying it is important.
December 18, 2025 at 2:21 PM
its hard not to imagine that what the constitution decided is and isnt a right has created a pretty rigid definition of the concept. neoliberalism in the economy and legistlature since the 80s probably didnt help
December 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM
its a highly individualistic view of rights that believe safety and autonomy occur in a vacuum but healthcare does not. american individualism, regardless of how its politicized, puts a pretty low ceiling on peoples curiosity
December 18, 2025 at 1:57 PM
universal healthcare was also not this grand agreed agenda point among dems under obama, i dont know why people are acting like thats the case. many rich democrats dont believe in hc4a

theyre not exclusive but this person is a center liberal. and market insurance aligns with the global definition of liberalism
December 17, 2025 at 5:23 PM
it's really important to focus on this. some republicans have this exact critique of the aca and on this specific point they are absolutely right. heavy subsidies are often ineffective half-measures to nationalized industry that give you the worst of both extremes
December 17, 2025 at 3:27 PM
i'm sorry if healthcare isn't a right for you, you are not on the left. you're a liberal
