experiences in OH. We apply expectancy value theory, finding that multiple factors shape students' expectancies, values, and costs for attending OH. For instance, many students highlight how their high schools offered OH, shaping their perception of college OH (often incorrectly). 2/5

some students are noticing more perceptual features, often focusing on less relevant trends and features, with others noticing deeper, more relevant patterns that facilitate conceptual sensemaking. In addition, we find multiple factors, including students’ expectations and their attitude... 2/n

The Chapman University Biology Education Research Group had multiple students present at the National Association of Biology Teachers this weekend. They did great (proud mentor!)
