A pivotal moment for Europe is here.

We are ready to mobilise up to €800 billion to help EU countries increase defence spending.

We'll present our proposals to all EU leaders at today's European Council meeting.

Europe is resolved to assume its responsibilities ↓

I tried to anticipate how bad things would get after Trump entered the office — but I never imagined it would get this bad...

Really excited about #DeepSeek, open source models are getting more powerful and efficient is great news for everyon!

Now, being a software engineer myself, does anyone have advice on good resources for how to best incorporate LLMs into applications? I mean, besides the obvious chat bot..

Re-watched the original Alien movie from 1979. Holds up pretty well actually! Got inspired after watching Alien: Romulus the other day. A lot of nice references in Romulus that I didn't realize until now.

I'm in the waiting line for this in Stockholm. Been for a loooong time. Really excited to try it out. Hopefully this funding will help make that happen faster.

Even if 2027 might be a bit optimistic, it really is just a matter of time. Let's embrace it and try to stay ahead of the curve — I'm always curious of how to optimize parts of both everyday life and work.

I agree that this is what EU should do now.

"#EU [should] ..start seriously addressing our dependency on Big Tech and invest in real alternative models and services."

Meta and X are going rogue. Here is what Europe should do now. - European Digital Rights (EDRi)
To solve the core problem, we have to curb the immense grip Big Tech has on our institutions and invest in independent digital alternatives.

To clarify: I'm mostly curious about how we (from a European perspective) ended up in the claws of US software giants giants. It seems we've fallen behind A LOT in the software industry. Something needs to change.
Meta, Google and Amazon usually get a lot of attention as the tech giants that heavily dominate and influence society today — all of them software companies at their core. Why are we so behind in Europe on this? Not that I necessarily want even more mega corps to influence our lives of course #eupol

Is there any #golang community here on Bluesky? Recommendations for people to follow would be much appreciated! Also #programming in general I suppose!

I have a feeling this will be an exciting week, at least from a political perspective. Anticipating a lot of questionable statements and actions from #Trump as he is inaugurated.

My GPU has 45 billion transistors in it.

Like, we have this magic rock that we carved 45,000,000,000 miniature switches on it to create images of worlds that do not exist on a screen.

We really, really not appreciate enough how insanely magical technology is.

"rapid unscheduled disassembly" is my new favorite expression!
The "rapid unscheduled disassembly" happened well short of the spacecraft's planned trajectory, which would have seen it fly halfway around the world.

The TikTok ban will be the best thing that happened to the world in a while. Let's hope the ban actually gets implemented.

Surely, it getting banned in the US must also lead to it getting banned in the EU eventually right? 🤞
