it's basically a case imo where the tech / media story about AI is so absurd one way ("it can do anything! it's basically god!") that then the online left reaction ends up going too absurd the other way ("it's completely evil and should never be used!")

think for me the most damning thing for Pope is he wasn't even good in the county championship - I know it doesn't matter to them, but it's always been some evidence that the talent is there

also, Tiki Taka is something with a tactical counter in the game and is part of the natural cycles of the game - getting better at set pieces and taking more time on them is something that doesn't really have a tactical counter, it will just be something boring that everyone does

as well as just refereeing set pieces properly, they could also just basically add a time limit to them - teams have to take a set piece within X seconds of it being awarded
