For some reason it reminds me of this Far Side panel

This stuff has been going on for a while. You know Trump would dress the secret service up in Custodes armour if he could. (Although it would be made of cardboard sprayed gold).

I agree. I think there’s a whole faction lurking away in the design language space between Votann and Admech. Curvy, smooth mechanicals, AI, high tech.

I love this one. The fact that it’s really well drawn on a tablet, apparently following an art exercise cue to the letter makes it much funnier. I don’t know if that’s a bit or not, but I adore it.

Watched The Prestige this weekend. Hugh Jackman’s character commissions a machine which duplicates whatever is put into it perfectly, but rather than putting gold bars into it he puts in:

(A) a hat, repeatedly
(B) One (1) cat
(C) himself, dozens of times, killing himself each time.

Is he stupid?!

Quite a widespread incursion for a mistake

Kind of reminds me of Fayum mummy portraiture, which would have come from a similar place of honouring the memory of the dead.

[Smooth Saville Rowe tailor, leaning in to whisper discreetly into Harrison Ford’s ear] “Now does Sir dress to the right or left”?

I love early war in heaven 40k because it had the C’Tan in their prime.

You could argue the saturnine dreadnought leaks do resemble the furibundus a *bit*. There are certain design cues that are similar: the rounded pauldron-like arm features, for example.

Saturnine obviously *isn’t* furibundus, but perhaps it’s a riff on some of the older dread’s design?

You can just imagine an Iron Hands Praetor would weigh a ton with all those augmetics, so his jetbike would probably be modified to look heavier & more brutal than a normal jetbike. Maybe even convert a heresy speeder into a single seat jetbike to get that look?

Here’s another possible WEG/Andor inspiration I spotted. Andor’s initial Gorman disguise looked (I thought) a lot like an outfit from the Han Solo Corporate Sector Handbook.

There’s scope for a sequel series… OK, I know everyone dies, but we could still have a series about Hoth and the Bothan spies?

I found Paddington hard to watch as a Cousin.

What fictional shows did you find hard to watch by virtue of your status?

I do have a theory that we’re all just getting old & slightly regressing to our childhoods, so we respond positively to nice looking 80s styled cars because that’s what cars looked like when we were kids.

Same reason I like the Rivian R3, but then get disappointed when I see the (modern) front.

“Only people who have no clue about the lore think women form part of the fighting regiments of the Imperium. It’s been that way since the 80s”.

[Me, having no clue about the lore looking at a WD from the 80s]

I keep saying it, but GW should do a Necromundan House Greim/Killteam/Imperial Guard plastic set. It would work across all the systems as a gang/killteam/army. It would appeal to Oldhammer fans, newbies… the Krieg Killteam set was a big success, I think this would be, too.

Interceptor City is great, isn’t it? You really get the sense Abnett is breathing a sigh of relief to be moving away from HH for a bit.

Would make a great movie. I keep mentally casting Vicky McClure as Bree Jagdea.
