If you see me on here it's probably because I'm avoiding homework. But also I like a lot of things and to talk about them.
I didn't feel like cooking a big deal meal on Thursday, but I can't turn down a bag of cheap potatoes so I made us some 1554 beef short rib with mashed potatoes.

One of my cats has to make sure the water is wet in his bowl before drinking it.

It's our first #caturday together! I think these boys are settling in quite well.

We brought home two kitties yesterday! While one has stashed himself away underneath all the things, one has found the cat TV. Meet Maurice.

Tonight I am thankful that NA beer can michelada. It's nice to drink a ridiculous tourist drink sometimes.

Made the Quincy's Tavern mushroom and gnocchi soup tonight. (With bonus broccoli that needed to get used.) Whooo. That's a beautiful, filling soup. Low energy make if you use presliced onions and mushrooms.

I caught the bags of cranberries at Costco 2 days after they were packed. So of course I made my house smell delicious and I'll put these up in the freezer. Should have plenty through Xmas.

Breakfast fried rice for dinner. (And to be frozen for when I need to say fuck it I just want to heat something up. )

Got any tips on better hawk photography? I mustered this chonk.

Since we're all talking about Gatsby again, I wanted to restate my hearty recommendation for Kyra Davis' The Great Mann. It's a Gatsby retelling that takes place in the famed and real Sugar Hill neighborhood in LA. The stakes change when Gatsby is a Black man. A well done story. #booksky

Ethiopian? For lunch? I'll do my best to finish! (There is an Ethiopian auntie in the corner who is obviously making sure I finish. Haha)

We had a fatso of a Cooper's hawk yesterday in my backyard! Here is a terrible photo of him.

Hahahaha! I truly have no idea. 😜 but I might've found inspo for what my dwarf barbarian looks like from this cover. So thanks for the backstory/lore!

I've been fighting the doom scroll these past three weeks with a little cozy doom. I beat Wytchwood tonight! A fun donning of a Baba Yaga costume to interfere with several fairytale retellings. I give it 4 stars in general and 3 on switch. Fie upon the Switch glitches!

I'm once again close to my reading goal, tbd in October. Here's September! Y'all I cannot recommend The Great Mann by Kyra Davis Lurie more strongly. It's a retelling of Gatsby but in LA's Black neighborhood Sugar Hill. The stakes raise when Gatsby is Black. Read it! #booksky
