have to admit, for the next few hrs in the northern & eastern twin cities metro, we got a fairly uniform plume of moisture coming up highways US 52 (KRST > KSTP) & WI 35 (KLSE/KRGK to KRNH). I wouldn't be totally shocked if we had some locally high rain totals before the eve is done. #mnwx #wiwx

My older brother found this South American salamander just roaming around his yard in northeast PA. How did it get to the anthracite coal county? Could this cause bigger problems?

update #2: we still got the storms out there, now 3 warnings. A ended- Shakopee to Bloomington and Eagan, B near Hastings, C Coon Rapids to North Oaks, D by Durand. all have downpours and hail quarters to 1/2 dollars. moving 20mph or less.

update: while we deal with flash flooding, now we have two areas of severe thunderstorm warnings. #1 is out between Chaska and Eden Prairie moving E at 20, the other from Lake Elmo to Rosemount, moving SE at 15-20. main risks with both areas: hail to 1/2 dollars (1.25") and heavy downpours. #mnwx

twin cities peeps. we got a flash flood warning in the metro right now until 615 PM CDT. worst of it is between 494 and 94/394. 1.5 to 2.5" of rain in the last hour, another 1"+ possible, especially east of 35e. watch it during the evening rush. #mnwx

something you don't see as often these days is happening in Central Texas, w/ very ugly consequences attm. an old fashioned textbook MCC (mesoscale convective complex). major radar-derived rainfalls on the low end of 3-4" and 9-12+" on the high end. not a good July 4th in Texas. #txwx

Yea, I know I smoothed it. You can come after me for that. But with the 60dBz area ( magenta) going up to 30kft agl near New Richmond WI and a WBZ near 11kft via MPX 00z RAOB, that cell is pumping out golf balls right now. Interesting.

This was apparently found in the suspect's vehicle. Suspect still at large. Apparently still several "persons of interest " needing to be interviewed. And I am hearing rumors that only DFL lawmakers were on the manifesto list. Very scary thought in my head to speculate.
