I live where it gets hot and at least get to enjoy a/c. Though there is this little unit I got to keep my office cold called an evaporative cooler. Little ones aren't too expensive, but definitely costs.

I often soak them in water when the weather heats up. Helps keep the dogs cool no matter if it's rainbow, camo, or patterned in cowboy hamsters 🐹

"Are your parents home?"-- "Yeah, but that's an 8 hour drive." Or just keep an urn in your house and bring it out.

If they express concerns about people treating them poorly because of a flag, maybe don't call them intolerant because they don't feel safe flying it
