Have you considered (I'm sure you have) modularising Contentment, so that if you are unsure about a specific data editor (or set of editors) - then you could potentially do it separately and make it a Contentment AddOn?
(I've never used the Block editor just a different idea)

Yep, the UI needs a bit of TLC, but yes the dB model is compatible with the core media picker 3

I think you can get away without sending those two to be honest
Since getting involved with the #UmbracoCMS about 10 years ago, open source has become a crucial part of my career. Prior to that, I was, essentially, unaware of open source in my developer ecosphere. Getting involved with Open Source and contributing has helped me on many different levels.
