IMO, full public is only right for where you want as much exposure as possible. It's terrible for privacy and profiling. Even using white-listed people and groups in FB is very far from being secure, even if they never expose it to, say, a government agency. There are still too many interconnections

And the 300 character limit is not only a PITB, but I think discourages critical thinking.

Any bot can crawl BSky, including Meta's, China's, Trump's, Iraq's. I don't really want them profiling and data mining me.
