So far, we have two people on the dev team saying they'd never use it, vs. one who said they'd use it 'situationally', while not specifying what they mean by "AI" (generative AI, or stuff like procedural generation, that's now getting called AI).

Unless there's solid proof of it, I'd generally take the benefit of the doubt and assume that any AI textures were placeholders that weren't screened properly. I get that there's a lot of negativity towards the game re: TGA, but I don't think you should let some random awards show influence you.

Well, an LLM isn't sentient, let alone sapient. As they're not living things, you can't really discriminate against them. Every LLM is just one massive mathematical formula.

A Sim character is more 'sentient' than an LLM, as they respond to stimuli, and are continuously making decisions. A Goomba from the original Super Mario Bros is more sentient than an LLM. An LLM is just a big math formula. Nothing more.

A human brain has a constant stream of consciousness. From some point in the womb, till our death, our brains are continuously running, processing information.

An LLM isn't conscious. You give it an input and a random seed, it does a bunch of 11th grade math, and gives you an output.
