YES. I am currently making a serious video game about this very thing: how to communicate, empathize, tolerate someone who is going thru this difficult journey.

It's a two-way conversation redefined.

Yes. Mobile video games are the worst at this because the ads are often rude, crude, and LOUD.

Once again, there is NO GREATER GOOD or any purpose, whatsoever served here, except to inflict pain, strife, obstacles, and challenges upon hard-working, growing families.

INNOCENT people. Can you see it now?

"They had followed the required steps: They had submitted extensive paperwork and paid fees. The foreign spouses had been fingerprinted and passed medical exams. None had criminal records. None had entered the country illegally. They had already been granted employment authorization."

The 60s/70s broadcasts were b&w snippets (we didn't get color TV until 1972), heavily edited for the sake of 6 pm news broadcast, kids watching (like me)... and NOW.

The full view. Audio, visual. Real-time. Real people.Super-high stakes, for not just Ukraine.

I found both of these back to back talks useful, helpful rn:

Maurin, Corbinais: Depressing Games

Amazing.

(When the last living witness to any historic and world-changing event passes away, especially an atrocity or tragedy, I feel like a piece of our collective memory is in danger of fading. Thank you, historians and journalists who keep those memories alive through the generations.)
