It’s not random – type 2 diabetes and obesity at mid-life are both major risk factors for Alzheimer’s. Metabolic dysfunction and high insulin levels are bad for your brain!

Could be that once people are symptomatic, there is too much disease progress already for the meds to work. I would be surprised if they don’t reduce risk of developing Alzheimer’s in people who start taking it while neurologically healthy, since t2 diabetes is a major risk for it
