people with highly stigmatized diagnoses are still people and this shouldn’t be as controversial as it is

if people are going to face stigma like that isn’t it more likely that they’ll avoid professional help and be less likely to change mindsets and behaviors that aren’t good for them/the people around them. also just don’t fucking treat patients badly. jfc.

something deeply offputting and strangely calvinistic in insisting there’s a category/categories of people that are ontologically evil. the reverse elect. esp gross when people bring ableism or other systems of oppression into it. i think it’s dangerous and unhelpful.

i am obviously not saying don’t use it but i’ve seen staff disproportionately ban members of marginalized groups and leave up fascists so like. 🤷‍♂️
