Why is anyone surprised that a World Cup, heavily influenced by the most corrupt US President of all time and in conjunction with the most corrupt head of FIFA (since the last one 🤦♂️) will price normal fans out of tickets?

I think it's more of a morality check.
If you consider yourself religious (of any faith) and support Trump then you're a hypocrite and need to reevaluate your position.
There isn't a single major religious text that supports the cruelty and hate that is being perpetrated in the US.

I'd be more worried that life is so intolerable in the USA for so many people that huge numbers need to take drugs to escape the misery of their lives 🤷♂️

Maybe they retain a perverse desire to possibly visit the US one day in the future - like five plus years from now.
Personally, my social media history means I can't even think about travelling to the US for the foreseeable future 🤷♂️

I suspect that the kompromat that Putin has on Trump is an even bigger hold than the cash.
My gut feeling is that they'll fight like rats in a sack when Trump goes and that will be their undoing 🤞

His reign will be short and vicious but I don't think he can hold the disparate right wing groups together well enough to maintain the grip that Trump somehow does.

That's my concern too - those enabling Trump will not want to lose all that they have gained simply because he's no longer fronting up the operation.

I don't disagree but I'm not convinced that the damage done to 'normal' people through the loss of freedom of movement is justifiable as a security measure against foreign spies/disruptors. Those with malicious intent will get them in through diplomatic routes or underground anyway.
