More often =/= stronger, especially in modern load-bearing structures. This is a basic premise of modern structural engineering and mechanics of materials. Strength scales as a square while mass scales as a cube. So, load distribution needs to be employed to allow for building taller structures.

Again, none of that means more steel is required "at the bottom" for the WTC towers. You talk about statics, but you don't seem to understand statics. Past that, you definitely don't have a grasp of mechanics of materials.
