So Mr Legal Scholar, go take your rape apologist attitude elsewhere.

In sexual assault cases there is usually a lack of physical evidence. Easy to inject a sliver of doubt when it is a he said vs she said case. These men raped and sexually assaulted her. They are far from innocent.

The ruling of the judge doesn't change the reality that she was raped and assaulted

And go take your rape apologist attitude elsewhere 🍤🤏

If the prosecutor fails to do that, the court can deem a not guilty verdict. Not guilty doesn't mean innocent. You can still have committed the crime and be found not guilty.

Beyond a reasonable doubt is a extremely threshold in cases that often lack physical evidence.

Learn the legal basics.

Hey look everyone, it's someone who has zero basic knowledge of how the justice system in Canada routinely fails sexual assault victims and is set up to protect men!

Lesson 1: the court system is not designed to prove innocence. It is up to the prosecutor to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Don't forget that these men didn't have to get up on the stand and testify. She was deemed "unreliable" because she couldn't remember her exact weight. But Carter Hart, only one who went on the stand, could get away with not remembering anything but the neat little story they had planned

...women says it wasn't. Who do we believe? Men, primarily. Sexual assault cases are usually not reported and even fewer result in a conviction. There has to be a better way.

I don't have the answer, but the system needs to change.

The justice system is designed to protect these types of men. Burden of proof in a sexual assault case is extremely difficult when it almost always boils down to "he said she said." There is usually little evidence.

Even with rape kits done it still boils down to consent. Man says it was consentual

..to their innocence?
July 25, 2025 at 3:37 PM
You would probably be an "inconsistent and unreliable" witness too if you had to go through 5 cross examinations by some of the best defense lawyers whose entire jobs are to gaslight you and make you feel terrible.

But the men didn't have to face the Crown at all. Why wouldn't they want to speak..
July 25, 2025 at 3:37 PM
What about the men who forgot many important details? Why is the victim required to have a perfect memory and recollection of her trauma?

Trauma makes you forget and doubt yourself.

4/5 men didn't even take the stand, but I bet their memories would be just as inconsistent and unreliable

How dare E.M. not know how much she weighted in 2018? That's super concerning and makes her an unreliable witness #sarcasm

Sadly this was Carroccia's thought process. But you know it was alright by her that the men forget many important details.
July 25, 2025 at 3:32 PM
...the men would remember more about this supposed "shocking" event as their defense lawyers kept framing it.

Oh no @jenniferj-ca.bsky.social we seemed to have upset him. Anyway, nothing of value was lost.

Jennifer, this man is just a bad faith actor. He may be an attorney, but I suspect he isn't a very good one.
