Have you been connected with @brimwats.com? They’re a fellow Psi U (Delta Nu chapter) who has been doing a bunch of work developing best practices for metadata in archives, research, etc. for faithfully representing trans and gender diverse people. Feels somewhat connected to your linguistics work!

I still think you have to try to understand. If it becomes clear that the core reasoning is “he’s promising to hurt the people I also want to hurt” then I agree you can move on.

Also worth noting: if I worked as a developer and through a bad call caused the company to lose three orders of magnitude less money than that, I’d be fired immediately. Instead here Zuck gets to keep his job and 1000 people who didn’t have a say in that decision lose their livelihoods.

As someone who drinks but tries to put a pretty strict limit on it, I’ve been very happy with the quality and variety of NA options for both beer and cocktails nowadays.

They “fixed” the problem by moving two of the four from belt 7 to belt 14, not announcing the change until the bags were already dropping, announcing the wrong flights had moved, and only *then* updating the monitors

Based on the number of rumors that Biden was poised to do this within the last half of his term, it felt to me like the party was using it as a last-resort tool for if they felt like they were going to lose the election.

So they decided not to break glass but still lost the election anyway.

Par-cooking fries, then freezing them, then deep frying them is a classic method to make excellent fries. I love it when restaurants buy frozen fries.

It’s the perfect Thanksgiving sauce. The whole deal is rich and fatty and carby, and it just begs for something bright and herby to go with. Try it! You won’t be able to do Thanksgiving without it again.
