Finished listening to the entire run of ROCKY FORTUNE with Frank Sinatra. True, only 25 episodes but given how rarely I manage to finish an Old Time Radio show, it's worth a mention.

LIPS OF BLOOD (1975)
Whenever I am under the weather, ideally feverish, I always turn to either Jess Franco or Jean Rollin. Today it was Rollin's turn. Doctor's orders.

Watched DIABOLIK, CHI SEI?
Proof that it is still possible to direct stylish thrillers in 2025. Gotta loves me some split screen miracles.
And any films that casts not just Monica Bellucci but also Barbara Bouchet is an instant classic for me.

It's been about three decades since I first watched ZARDOZ for the one and only time. I have now upgraded my opinion from "utter disaster" to "fascinating folly". Give me one two more rewatches and I may declare this a masterpiece.

I've always thought that WEEDS ripped its premise from BREAKING BAD but today noticed that it premiered three years prior to that show so that it was in fact the other way round.

Saw Gabriel Byrne last night at the Cork Film Festival.
In actual fact sat right behind him when DEFENCE OF THE REALM was shown.

And the true cinematic discovery in 2025 for me... is a film from 1973: HOLLYWOOD 90028

I am months behind with updating my photography website but am slowly catching up again.
These are from a steampunk shoot at an abandoned railroad track in April.
I also started experimenting with medium format.

SCARLET STREET

Kitty March: Now you go on and paint.
Christopher Cross: Can I paint you?
Kitty March: Well, I was going to do this myself, but, uh...
[hands him toenail polish]
Kitty March: Paint me, Chris!... They'll be masterpieces.

(They just don't write kink coded dialogue like this anymore.)

I have contributed a number of articles to this issue. The one I am proudest of is a biography of Ladislas Fodor, a (screen) writer about whom very little had so far been known.
We have managed to unravel quite a bit more about his life and are happy to present it all in this issue!
