8 yrs ago (1st term) i dreamt about 1000s of people gathered in a park listening to Dr. Maya Angelou. i asked someone what was going on & she said they were trying to "hold the light." no political or religious agenda, just a vigil to hold the light of love and compassion during darker times. ⤵️

crimson red petaled flower with yellow center and red stems with buds. this is a geum called "flames of passion." my husband and i got it on an anniversary many years ago and it's nearly the only ornamental we've planted in our yard that's still alive! it blooms every year around our anniversary so we call it our "love plant." photo taken April 17, 2026.

recently learned the name of these “stems” coming out of moss. they’re sporophytes! the reproductive part of moss. and this green moss has fiery red ones that have water drops with sun sparkles. i love how some of the water drops have bits of blue and, of course my fave, purple. i don’t have an official watermark so i always take and use a color from the photo i’ve shared. fun to find purple in this pic. taken 1/27/2022
