There’s a thin line between being a hero and being a memory.

I often forget that, while exhilarating, my first year in Japan was an absolute shit-show.

Years 2-8 were incredible.

Years 8-current were what they were, good and bad.

But that first year was just completely fuckin’ weird

Thanks!

I had to carry my passport on me for four entire months. That thing took an absolute pounding.

At the airport, a TSA dude asked me WTF happened to it because the passport looked like it went through the literal wringer 😂

My first birthday here was pretty much spent alone.

I forced myself out my girlfriend’s house to navigate the train system alone.

Got the subway to Yoshizuka and hit up Toys R Us, where I bought Masterpiece Optimus (MP-04) for a then eye-watering ¥15,000.

Felt quite accomplished. 😆

Oh, nice! Good luck to ya!

Even in Japan, where Scrooge isn’t super well-know, this is becoming a headache to get ahold of.

Which cards are you after?
November 26, 2025 at 2:36 PM
I think that’s great. I had a wonderful time opening backs and starter decks, then I bought a bunch of singles to finish the subset.

Been a fun six months of card collecting and I’ve spent *maybe* $200 in total. Number’s probably closer to $150.

Pokemon could never 😂
