I was so enamoured with JRPGs after getting a taste for them on Mega Drive with PSIII&IV and SF II, that it didn't matter a jot. Suikoden charmed me so much, and I'd never played anything quite like it. A solid localization helped, telling its stories well, both personal and grand in scale.
