Illinois handled 25% of ALL out-of-state abortions last year.

That’s 35,000+ people crossing state lines just to get care.

The Chicago Abortion Fund fielded 16,000+ calls and no one was turned away.

That's holding the line.
Nearly 25% of All Out-of-State Abortions Took Place in Illinois Last Year: Study
About 35,000 out-of-state patients traveled to Illinois for an abortion last year, accounting for 39% of all abortions provided in the state, according to a recent study.

We should tax these

Would be cool to see many of the politicians seizing on the current moment of property tax fury run on fixing this (and the many issues in the current property tax system) instead of handwaving about business growth.

At this point, vertical video is less “content” and more “community defense.”

If you can talk to your people quickly, clearly, and without a million layers of approval, you win the narrative.
If you can’t, someone else fills the silence for you.

Vertical Video For People Who Hate Making Vertical Video
Why organizers — not influencers — need vertical video, and how it builds narrative power

I’ve been thinking and it’s kind of exceptional that not a single person said “Hey now” after the piggy comment.

I don't mean to be rude, but it is hard for me to get excited about Sarah McBride convincing other democrats to wag their finger at Nancy Mace or whatever given that McBride is, well, a supporter of genocide. www.autostraddle.com/sarah-mcbrid...

i often get asked why it's so difficult to figure out how to cover local judges, or how to approach voting for them.

this Chicago publication has a great project of crowd-sourcing information for the next few months.

check them out/spread the word!

I was tear-gassed on Oct. 14, while covering unrest on the East Side. After experiencing what I did and being face-to-face with federal agents, I walked away believing in the power of people again.
