CMS’s final 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, effective Jan. 1, 2026, estimates a reduction in Medicare payments for ID physicians. ID is expected to face an overall 6% reduction in reimbursement, compounding the long-standing undervaluation of ID care.
