I definitely shifted my purchasing of paperbacks to audio books. If it’s something I’ll want to read again, but don’t want it to take up space, then it’s an audio book

How long is the media just going to treat this as “normal and nothing we need to write about”?

He’s only getting away with it because we are insisting, despite all the evidence, that the emperor is wearing clothes

The teacher should have known that the parents turned off Infinite Campus notifications 2 weeks into the school year

Also, WoTC, GW, etc are publicly traded for profit companies. They only do things because they believe it will make them more $

Marketing to a wider audience, being inclusive and representative are good for business. They are not hear to cater to your weird little white power/man fantasyland

One of the worst aspects of the Trump era is that it’s given people permission to be the worst version of themselves.

They get so mad when people don’t want to be around them. They invent a world where they are ALWAYS the victim

I’ve found that Fireforge and Oathmark kits go together well. My Bretonian army is 95% FF and Oathmark kits

The blind faith & adoration in which certain people hold the ultra rich is weird

Are the ultra rich smart? Maybe in some cases. But their acolytes always seems to miss the fact they got lucky, & benefited from the various public services in the US & the massive labor of others to gain their wealth

My first teaching job was as in a small, rural TX town about an hour outside of Austin. You could get a house for $95K but 1/2 the time the water would be shut off or on boil notice, the power was intermittent and the closest real grocery store was 15 miles away. It was rough

Power is a hell of a drug. Some “Good” people will give up every moral, position, relationship in order to taste power

Power corrupts. Once people get it they’ll do anything to hold on to it

Eventually they won’t know if they’re doing something for power or if they truly believe

My mother never forgave me for growing up. She was starting to resent my daughter for doing the same.

Cut contact 4 years ago, it still hurts but it was the right call

I still sing along to the jams from HS (96-2000).

And I still wear ankle socks…tube socks can suck it!

The cope is strong here. 36% is abysmal.

My mother received her citizenship in 2003. It was moving to see all the different people at the ceremony. It breaks my heart to think about people getting turned away.

Our strength is our diversity, to deny that is to deny US history

Wasn’t my intention. I was just stating that’s it’s a big hobby and there’s room for people who love to paint and room for people who don’t.

It would fit the vibe

In addition, HS kids 14-18, see the “young, cool” TPUSA stooges as old fossils. I can’t imagine the cringe level of some 35 year old from DC trying to relate to a bunch of HS kids in suburban Austin

Yeah bro, the kids are real impressed with your poli sci degree and internship at Heritage 🙄

HS teacher here. To make people feel better this will, more then likely fall completely flat.

Public schools in TX are, in large part very diverse places where many of the kids will be, let’s say, unwelcome in a TPUSA space

We are governed by the worst kids from middle school.

To each there own. I paint my figures because I like doing it and I enjoy the detail.

Some of us are here for the game experience more then the crafting. Either way works

Great job, each base feels dynamic and the banners are awesome

Adulting can kiss right off for sure. I try for 15 minutes a day. It’s not a huge commitment but it makes me feel like I’ve gotten something done.

And the sessions stack, eventually I’ve got a painted miniature
