It was also handily destroying the evidence. If they sink the survivors and the boat fragments, no one can prove they were just ordinary guys with a hold full of fish.

The problem with being known for lying is that when something perfectly shaped to fit the desired narrative happens, most people reflexively assume the administration is lying.

In my experience Maine voters are refreshingly reluctant to go all-in or all-out on someone on the basis of a single sound bite or data point.

Yeah I have no patience for this - despite being extremely liberal myself. I mean, if you think someone is lying to seem more palatable, that's one thing. But when someone's history and actions suggest actual growth, you're actively hurting your own cause by excluding them.
