These four won everyone over quickly like Mixtape and would not spend much time with us before finding their homes. Three of the four have been adopted or will be going home this week and Tassel is well on her way to being ready for adoption after recovering from her surgery!

It was obvious to us how we should honor Mixtape’s legacy - we would transfer medical cases from CACC and give them an opportunity. With that we brought in three cats who were exposed to feline panleukopenia and Tassel, a small kitten who had her tail amputated due to it being necrotic.

For the longest time we thought Mixtape would make a slow recovery but in September it was clear something substantial was wrong as she was losing weight again and growing tired and anemic. Everything pointed towards Mixtape having cancer so it became apparent what the humane outcome would be.

And once she was at Harmony House - that’s when we fell in love. Mixtape looked like hell - to this day I remember my reaction upon seeing her before sitting down to give her love - but none of you let that deter you from showing her the compassion and love she deserved.

Mixtape had no idea how to survive outdoors; rather than hunting like many cats would, Mixtape consumed small pebbles. Our supporter fostered Mixtape for some time, nursing her to stability before she joined us at Harmony House.

Earlier this year we took in a cat named Mixtape and we - including many of you - immediately fell in love with her. Mixtape had quite the history - found on the street by one of our supporters and mistakenly thought to be a calico due to the water staining of her fur.

Loki does have some medical needs that are well managed and relatively low-cost. Loki initially seems to do well with other cats, and we will have a better sense of that in the next week or so when he spends more time with the Harmony House alums that are residents of his foster home.

Loki is currently in foster with a board member, helping him adjust to this new stage in his life. We want to see him skip entering the shelter to get him into his new home as quickly as possible.

A devastating medical diagnosis for his original human took Loki from his loving home. Loki’s owner’s desire is for him to find a new home full of just as much love as theirs.

Loki is an extremely affectionate, playful boy who was dearly loved in his original home. His owner took great care of him, providing a wonderful life for Loki while they could.
