Found in my closet: an early print out of the JRPG book from almost exactly six years ago, which was used to pitch it. This is an early design that mimicked the CRPG Book before it was picked up by Bitmap Books and redesigned. The capsule pages (the action-RPGs here) were ultimately not included.

Night Striker Gear is just fantastic. Perfectly captures the vibes of the original but with a modern sheen. Game itself is much more intense too, with more enemies, bullets and some impressive boss battles. Definitely feel the Treasure DNA here.

Got my tariff bill from DHL and it's roughly what I expected at ~$38. It's $17 plus an extra $1 in processing, plus about $18, which is roughly 15% (Japan tariff rate) of the $100ish worth of figures I ordered. Had a few other things that may have been untaxed, won't know till I get the docs.

In Cyberswine, the titular cop's partner is this woman, who looks a bit like Britney Spears. But the game came out in 1997, more than a year before Spears made it big, so it must've been a coincidence....right?
