Kero Blaster rules. I had been curious about this game for a long while and seeing that it's currently 3 bucks on Switch I decided to try it. Surprisingly fun story and lots of great blasting. Cool bosses and music. And more game here than you'd think. Worth a look!

Early concept for AVGN 8-Bit. It's not too far off from the final cover. I miss the snake a lot, but we needed to keep elements separate to move around for all of the different formats. I had him looking a little closer to modern James here. We made him look more heroic as well.

I have an oval seal Castlevania as well so after last night's defeat I decided to win this morning.

Unrelated but my old phone took better CRT images.

Never heard that before but sure enough!

Gorgeous night so I figured I'd run through Castlevania and my game locked right here. Bummer.

I never knew this! I bought mine the day it came out and sure enough there's a sticker on there.

Ive been playing Phantasy Star 4 for the first time and I like it but so far my biggest issue is that the names of all these spells are horrible and I have no idea what any of them mean.

The book consists of tips from 8 manga and game artists that have different levels of digital art experience and how they felt about making work with Mario Paint. The first one here (Play 89) is by Akihito Tomisawa of Game Freak.

Then they even suggest bringing your VHS work to different print shops throughout Tokyo so that you can make stickers and key chains with your Mario Paint art.

There's an entire section about storyboarding and recording scenes onto VHS and even suggestions on how you could dub voice work over your animation.

They're from this book about 100 ways to enjoy Mario Paint. It's a really interesting guide compared to the official US one. Whereas that guide is way more beginner friendly this one goes extremely deep with unique ways to get the most out of Mario Paint.

And the second one.

Songs composed by Tsukasa Masuko (known for Shin Megami Tensei music) for Mario Paint that I found in an old MP guide book from Japan.

Been playing Wanderers from Ys III here and there. I absolutely hated this game as a kid but wanted to come back to it after playing Ys Book I & II a year ago. I've come around to it now that I realize this game is basically side scrolling bump combat.

Played through Simon's Quest. Only needed to cheat once! The ending section is rad. I love the empty castle leading up to Dracula's resurrection. I even like that he's a push over because it makes Simon feel like he's the one in control. Its a big victory lap for a tough game.

Only 81 players have been able to even rank for the true ending on Speed Run mode.

Downloaded Gimmick! for Switch and ended up using my own guide for tips on how to get some of the treasures. I was horrible at this... When I made this issue I was getting really good at this game. Lost it all! Anyway it and Gimmick 2 are like 5 bucks each right now.

This isn't a dig at Plok but it's the most shocking game to see within these pages getting feature! Also I would do anything to see a copy of Steve Miller's work that is featured within these pages.

I was inspired by @ziondood.bsky.social's Mario Paint video to see if I had anything on my original copy and alas, nothing. But here's a look at the original package! I even still have the little red tab on the bottom of the mouse. Also my very worn copy of the guide book which I loved.

Now I want to play R4 again after reading through this rad zine by @ultrabrilliant.xyz.

The cloth map was inside the jewel case and it was stuck to the discs! I was sure it was going to ruin them when I was pulling it up. So I put it in a sleeve before sealing it back up. If I can make room for it, Id love to play this version again.

My daughter has been playing Lunar on Switch. So I took out the original PS1 version to show her how cool they packaged this and I was impressed again all these years later. Watching her play I've realized I don't remember much about it at all but I remember this set!

Slowed up a little but 150 finished. Bagged and sealed with love. Trying really hard to not have any repeats but it's getting tough the deeper I get into this.

Just wanted to thank the people that picked up a copy of 202X: Video Game Reflections when they finalized their HDGG: Mega Man order. I'll be sure to stuff each copy with a bookmark & and extra sticker from my left over stash when I ship them off to NF for fulfillment!

100 Mega Man sketches for Backers down... 100 to go! Having flashbacks of doing this for Zelda years ago.
