This has been typical Sportsnet audio for a while. I’m not sure if it’s just the ice mics or if it’s the entire audio feed, but they’ve got a ridiculous amount of compression on the audio. It’s why it sounds like it’s pumping between lots or quiet and very washy.

As an audio guy, this is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Turn down the gain just a little bit and it won’t sound like that. Just completely running in the red.

Could the Habs SOG be higher? Absolutely. I guess they’re just extremely efficient on offense tonight.

Learned all about this in grade 7 and we even did a class trip to Quebec City to explore some of the locations. Haven’t been back since ‘94 but I really want to.

We were able to keep the signal through the entire draft lottery show, catching the Habs getting pick no 5. I was only disappointed because we were so close to getting Crosby. Turns out the guy we picked was pretty damned good too.

Pierre was so wrong. I remember it was during the 04/05 lockout & the Sidney Crosby draft year. My parents & I were driving from Red Deer, AB to visit relatives in SK for New Year’s, listening on the AM sports station in Calgary. Every passing minute got us further away & the signal started to fade.
