That’s why they’re losing, not a “legal insurrection.” And that’s how rule of law works.

You don’t get to say the crazy stuff these folks are saying here in a trial court and get away with it. And you don’t get to impose the power of the federal government against its own people based on little more than a hot take.

This is a moment for competition to make a comeback - the future of the internet and a fair, open system for AI is on the line. This case is also a reminder that we can and should fight the abuses of corporate power, no matter how hard the battle, and win. As Americans, we deserve no less.

The exceptional public servants at DOJ, together with 49 Attorneys General led by Colorado and Nebraska, will stay on the beat to make sure Google follows the court’s orders.

Yesterday, the court imposed a series of consequences on Google. While those consequences fall short of what I believe the factual record supports, they include keeping Google under oversight for SIX years.

After years of late nights and long days in the courtroom, the judge agreed that Google illegally “widen[ed] the moats and pull[ed] up the drawbridges” to shut out competition.

This is a moment for competition to make a comeback - the future of the internet and a fair, open system for AI is on the line. This case is also a reminder that we can fight the abuses of corporate power, no matter how hard the battle, and win. As Americans, we deserve no less.
