Crested Cardinal. Was sitting at a roadside stand looking out over the Pacific Ocean drinking fresh coconut water out of a coconut and in flew this cardinal. A Great Frigatebird soared overhead while we walked a trail along the Pacific Ocean A flamongo one one leg bends over for a drink. A song sparrow hanging out at the breakfast table.

Sometimes when i photograph fireworks with a digital camera, I’m not sure what will actually be captured. I use some night settings, but never sure if the shutter speed creates the effect i want. I might have been sliw to press the shutter on this one. Kind of caught this one on the way down

Yesterday evening the sky was clear, the neighborhood walk brought peace of mind and a pleasant view just before the sunset. Mount Rainier sits on the horizon from the shores of Lake Washington in the city of Seattle.

We all have different interpretations of #Bright. This image taken with my Nikon D-3300 is from a display of cranes symbolizing a shining future of peace in a post WWII world. It is displayed at the Pearl Harbor Memorial in Hawaii.

Cranes for “peace” on display at the WWII memorial outside Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii Sadako’s Cranes. Japanese-Americans were interned in Hawaii in camps beginning in 1942 after the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This included men, women and children. This is a display from one child who was one of the internees.

Something special in the aura of the evening light. We watch the waves reflect the setting sun & slowly absorb the transition of day into night. Alki Beach in West Seattle is a great place for one such reflection.

Many people drive hundreds of miles to get a glimpse of autumn colors & the trees with multi-colored leafs. For me, it’s a 1 mile walk to the north out my door along Lake Washington Blvd S in mid-October.

In what is now Macon, Georgia, indigenous people lived on a thriving society over 1000 years ago. They were incredible artisans, creating beautiful earthenware pottery. Happy Indigenous People’s Day.

This is a photo I stumbled (actually the term I use for my evening walk) into. Had no idea about a half hour into my walk that I would see this. Always happy to have the Nikon strapped around my neck. This photo I actually plotted out and edited for the moon to rise. However, had no idea the reflection would be what it was. Another photo I times my evening walk to. Again, the glow was unexpected. This photo was jaw dropping to me. Looks more like the sun, than the moon.

Seattle Waterfront Park. For all you out-of-towner drop-ins or cruise ship passenger tourists, this was a long time coming, but a dream finally realized.

Hard to believe this pier was a salmon fishing ground for the indigenous tribes (Duwamish) who lived here for hundreds of years. Public art and sculpture have a legacy in the last 50 years in Seattle. Look closely. This ya a children’s play area on the waterfront. Lest we forget the workers and the unions they belonged to that made this waterfront park possible.
