A great input on #HeritageCrime this afternoon hosted by Bexhill Heritage. Lots discussed, one poignant and thought provoking phrase was:

"Heritage restoration projects can create respect"

Working together can and does look out for, and after our shared heritage.

Both St Mary's and St Nicolas Churches in Pevensey have been victim to anti social behaviour & damage.
Due to this both have had to lock there doors outside of services.
Please look out for our heritage and 📞 999 at the time should you suspect anything suspicious or out of place.

It's the anniversary of 1066 Battle of Hastings today, William the Conqueror defeated King Harold Godwinson. Here's some fabulous artwork displayed in the town.
The day changed the direction of England, Motte & Bailey castles were on their way, stone churches are being built, the Normans were here.

Whether visiting a church for religious or spiritual guidance or simply to marvel in its amazing structure, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

It will come as no surprise to learn, that most of our Churches are listed. Well, a lot of them are incredibly old, they have the most incredible architecture and are a showcase for skills long lost and as such should be cherished and looked after.
