you mean people who actually will do our OWN sacrificing to fight for our friends and what we know is right rather than sacrifice our own stated principles (and actual humans who were causing no harm)..at some point "allies" have to actually stand up and fight. can't have that cake and eat it, sorry

lol..there are only 2 ways to go and they are mutually exclusive. 1) capitulate and abandon principles, or 2) be willing to fight for principles to point it means yes, EVERYONE might sacrifice to save those being actively sacrificed. tell me, what even attempt at "heroics" are we witnessing here?

how was it "forced"? I will not forgive or forget any business/org doing this. Trans people are being sacrificed so everyone else can go on as normal. imo they should stand with trans youth. everyone suffers if anyone suffers. that's called standing together. this is cowardice and deserves no praise

would love to hear details of exactly what sections of Mississippi curriculum was "progressive"..Is that like how for people in MS everything even remotely LW is just "communist"? how much you want to bet it got better when Mississippi adopted an *actually more fact-based and progressive curriculum?

imo potential upside to WH attempting "fact-checking" is fact they can't do so without more lying..everybody isn't fox"news" and genuine unbiased facts consistently land on lw/liberal side..and many facts they'd be "checking" aren't abstract, but provable. it could further *discredit Trump admin

at very least Pritzker, even while having no control, can immediately denounce the decision from fact this is literally a type of capitulation which has historically indicated rise in fascist-style authoritarianism to being directly opposed to stated priorities like free speech/pursuit of truth etc

that response wasn't actually addressed to Evan, but who keep making comparisons between trans identity itself and affirming such, which saves lives, to things like eating disorders where affirmation results in literal opposite..I wasn't disagreeing with Evan at all there (rarely do, love his work!)

pure false equivalence to compare..one bit imo important to remember is we absolutely DO know "affirmation" of a person's gender identity quite literally means MORE people happily healthily LIVE. "Affirming" things like anorexia literally lead to things like organ failure/death..kinda big diff, no?

btw giving too much benefit of doubt is its own bias. This study is unethical in several ways esp their being coerced and also little way the design can truly yield valid impartial HQ results for multiple reasons like kids saying under threat what they think Drs want to hear+drop outs/follow up etc

actually genuinely insane for all sorts of important reasons and even gives to some extent credence to claim in certain circumstances certain lifeforms, esp microorganisms, might be able to survive long enough to travel through space embedded in things like comets/ice. fun thought, very interesting!

imo "sex-rejecting procedures" is oddly more accurate than many other bigoted characterizations of GAC in YES, trans/gnc etc do REJECT notion biological/birth sex/chrom etc should dictate all aspects of their entire lives esp when we DO have medical tech to take control and reject forced stereotypes

true..but I do think there is a point to be made when someone who has previously supported trans rights is willing to clearly actively avoid taking any sort of solid position or even really talk about trans issues at the exact time trans are most desperate is NOT exactly a positive sign for support

no lol..I was just adding maybe a bit of context for others who might be reading: Can be true Corbyn has historically been supportive of trans rights and that evidence counts AND true we simply can't go by that alone anymore given level of betrayal trans have seen from many past so called "allies"

I agree "no evidence of transphobia" and IS of trans support..problem is, we've now seen Labour and many previously supportive in LW parties flip under pressure. imo Corbyn and the "new party" needs to specifically renew support for trans in this hostile time..benefit of doubt CAN'T be given anymore
