The history of our nation would have been very different if we'd had a folk hero named Johnny Poppyseed. Just sayin'.

If arresting judges is now acceptable, why not start with Clarence Thomas? It's not like we don't have enough evidence to show probable cause.

The three most important festivals on the Christian calendar are Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost. Christmas has long seen its secular side boom; Easter's secular side is expanding. Big Bizness hasn't yet seen a way to make a profit on Pentecost, possibly because they don't understand it.

The "re-created dire wolves" turned out to be modern grey wolves with cosplay make-up. In any case, who thought it might be a good idea to re-introduce dire wolves into the ecosystem anyway??? You want to bring back an extinct species, start with passenger pigeons.

As has been noted elsewhere, the tariffs aren't about economics. They're about power. If industries and nations come to 47, hats in hand and tugging their forelocks, and beg for relief, he may ease some tariffs - for a price. And then he'll claim he "fixed" the crisis.

And now Himself has waited until NYSE closed before announcing his economy-destroying tariffs. This creature has no spine whatsoever.

Apparently Trump waited until everyone was distracted by Sen. Booker's filibuster to announce massive firings in the VA, CDC, FDA, etc.

A key precept of detective work is “Cui bono?” Who benefits? To understand someone’s actions, look for who benefits from them.

Has Trump done *anything* that was not of benefit to Putin? Anything at all?

We have a mushroom infestation inside the chicken run, what with the nicely fertilized soil and all. We don’t dare try eating them, but we certainly have enough to keep any Hobbit family happy.

Gotta admit I'm a little anxious. On the Other Platform we had an auction to help victims of the recent LA fires. I said I'd do a scroll. The bidding went FAR higher than I expected. Now I have to deliver a scroll worth the money. Whooof.

A huge portion of my grief over the new administration is the fact that so, so many people seemed to want it. I simply don't understand how anyone could choose this convicted felon, this convicted fraud, this seditionist who will surely be hellbound -- how anyone could prefer him over anyone else.

The greatest barrier to Trump's fascist agenda is Trump's massive incompetence. Here's hoping he doesn't die in the next four years. A Vance presidency would be far, far worse.

The irony of the felon's inauguration taking place on Martin Luther King Jr Day is certainly not lost on me.

Sigh. Once again, the author of fiction I've loved has turned out to be a scumbag. At least I haven't heard anything bad about Terry Pratchett, thank goodness, and I hope it stays that way.

The latest Socal fire is being called the Auto Fire — about a mile from our house. We can see it from our driveway. We’re packed just in case we need to evacuate, but for the moment we’re safe.

I'll repost an article if I think it's worth broader distribution, but in general I'd like to stick with original content. In the spirit of which, here's my most recent scrollwork. If you're not in the SCA, you'll probably need some explanation.

This is going to take some getting used to. I was never on Xitter, or any platform earlier than FB (e.g. MySpace); Discord never clicked for me. We'll see how this goes. Any hints from more experienced users will be welcom.
